Wild About Bourbon
Somewhere between Heaven’s Door Refuge and the Central Waters, a Wild Turkey is strutting through the woods, a magnificent 12 Point buck is keeping watch, and a Chicken Cock is making sure nobody sleeps through the morning.
But life in the wild doesn’t always go according to plan.
That’s where the WINC comes in. Its wildlife hospital provides a place for injured, orphaned and sick wild animals to receive care, while its educational programs help the rest of us understand how we can safely and respectfully share our communities with them.
And if you’re willing to tumble down the Rabbit Hole, there’s an entire world to discover. Every animal has a story, every species has a role, and even the smallest pollinator contributes a little Blue Note Honey to the world around us.
This basket may be Wild About Bourbon, but tonight we’re really wild about something even better: the people who heal wildlife, teach us about it, and inspire us to care about the wild neighbors all around us.
Cheers to the WINC and to keeping Wisconsin wild!
