Crafted with care and artistry, this one-of-a-kind hand-turned cherry wood vase beautifully showcases the natural grain and warmth of Wisconsin cherry wood. Created by local woodturning artist Bob Johnson in 2011, the piece began as a log from a wild cherry tree donated by Pam and Ken Wedmeyer of Delafield.
Over the course of six hours, the artist shaped, smoothed, and polished the wood to reveal its intricate patterning and natural luster. Bob began woodturning after retirement in 2004 and has spent years refining his craft — turning each piece into a study in both precision and creativity.
A truly timeless work of natural art, this vase celebrates the quiet beauty of wood and the hands that transform it.
